The Food & Drink Events Company have partnered up with trade association, English Wine Producers to put even more English wine on the menus of the Midlands this January. After a successful festival and trade event in 2016, the English Wine Trade Tasting is back on Monday 23rd January with even more producers involved. The event, being held at Hotel Du Vin, is open to trade personnel from the Midlands and beyond.

With English wine gaining more awards on the world stage, the event aims to get relevant trade personnel tasting, learning about and investing in these fantastic products being made in the country.

Currently confirmed producers range from the multi-award winning sparkling wine makers Digby Fine English Wine, to local producers Halfpenny Green Vineyard (based just 25 miles away from Birmingham).

Clive Vickers, founder and winemaker at Halfpenny Green Vineyard, said: “English wine is experiencing a huge surge in popularity and is winning accolades and awards in both national and international competitions. It’s a fantastic opportunity to teach wine lovers about the virtues of the fantastic products which are being made here in England.”

Also returning to the event are Biddenden and Three Choirs, whose delicious wines proved to be a real hit with last year’s attendees.

Amy Seton, managing director of The Food & Drink Events Company, added: “The goal of the event is to encourage wine buyers to come and try new things. English sparkling has gained a great reputation but English wine is more than just bubbles. There are lots of producers and vineyards making some stunning red, white, rosé and even dessert wines. We’ve created the event to showcase fantastic English producers and encourage venues to extend their offering to entice consumers into try these amazing homegrown products.”

Registration for the English Wine Trade Tasting is free to all relevant on trade personnel. To confirm your attendance, sign up to attend via Eventbrite.
