The public gets what the public wants

Amber Valley Wines in Derbyshire is turning to the wisdom of crowds to select a new logo for the emerging vineyard.
After working with local designers Graphic Results in Belper, a new logo has been created for Amber Valley Wines. It will be the vineyard’s logo going forward and used in all AVW material including wine bottle labels.
A short-list of three designs have been produced and directors Duncan Mercer and Barry Lewis have turned to the public to select a logo through a vote on the vineyard’s website.
Mercer says: “This vote is just for the branding logo of the business that will of course be incorporated into the labels – but I imagine we could well do it again for a specific wine label. We want the public and our followers to choose the logo for Amber Valley Wines. This is all part of our getting others involved in our dream and there will be more of this to come over the coming months.”
The voting will run until the end of Sunday, May 20. To date they had had some 70 votes cast, he reveals. The result is binding on the business.
