Danebury Vineyards, near Stockbridge in Hampshire, have scooped three bronze awards in this year’s most prestigious wine tasting competitions.
Danebury Vineyards Vintage English Sparkling Wine ‘Cossack’ 2005 won a bronze medal at the International Wine & Spirit Challenge 2012 in the best English Sparkling Wine category. The same wine was also crowned ‘Wine of the Year’ in the recent Wessex Vineyards Association competition, judged by a prestigious line up of judges including a Master of Wine.
At the Imbibe Sommelier awards 2012, out of 1,800 entrants, Danebury Vineyards’ Madeleine Angevine 2009 and Schönburger 2009 varietal still white wines both won a bronze medal.
Simon Dupaquier-Green, Danebury Vineyards Estate manager, says: “We are thrilled by this achievement, and delighted that our many years of dedicated vineyard management and skilled wine production have been rewarded thus. In this year of celebrating all things British, let’s raise a glass of award-winning English wine!””
Danebury Vineyards’ wines are listed at some of the top restaurants and gastro-pubs across Hampshire, some award-winners themselves, or available to purchase from the cellar door, or select independent retailers.
