The Chinese flavour profile is often summarised by these four flavours: Sour, Sweet, Bitter & Spicy. Though a varied and rich cuisine, wines to match can often be beguiling.
Which is why Two Hungry Girls (THG) are proud to work with Grogger to host a supper club which pairs English wines with creative Chinese cuisine.
Guest sommeliers of the night, Grogger, will conduct “a fun and informative wine pairing experience where they talk guests through specially selected wines alongside the typical Chinese flavour profile”. Whilst still largely undiscovered in the wine world, their characteristic apple-y, crisp & grassy notes are in fact an exciting and exquisite match to classic Chinese flavours.
Both Grogger and THG will present, describe and host an interactive event surrounding a menu that marries these two worlds, where you will learn about cultural aspects to Chinese food whilst discovering a new palate for wine.
The menu is accompanied by four different wines. Grogger is an online degustation of wine and design, a select team of wine lovers, people with experience in the wine trade and designers from some of the UK’s top graphic and digital design agencies. They have worked in restaurants around the world tasting delicious wines and more importantly, they like a drink! They can be further consulted at grogger.tumblr.com.
The event is on Sunday, October 28 at 7,00pm in Hampstead, NW3. Tickets cost £40 and can be booked here
