Vineyard listed on leading travel offer website

Stopham vineyard and downs august 2011

Sweeping views across the South Downs National Park in West Sussex this summer with a wine-tasting tour for two at Stopham Vineyard, plus a bottle of wine to take home, has been made available on a leading travel offer website.
Outings to the 14-acre vineyard usually cost £59 for two, but now are exclusively available to Travelzoo.com subscribers for £30, saving a total of £29 on the regular price.
The experience begins with a talk on the different vine varieties, followed by a tour of the vineyard, where visitors will learn all about the process of making wine, from growing and harvesting to bottling. The tour will finish in the winery, where winemaker and owner, Simon Woodhead, an ex-Formula 1 racing car engineer, will meet the visitors.
The experience, which lasts at least two hours, also includes a bottle of the vineyard’s Pinot Blanc or Rosé to take home.
Stopham winery is set in a Grade II-listed converted Victorian barn. Since being planted in 2007, the vineyard’s wines have received rave reviews from industry experts, including Jancis Robinson, top wine critic and journalist for the Financial Times, who recently named its Pinot Gris 2010 her English Wine of the Week. The Times also named it one of 50 Best Winter Whites.
At the time of writing, some 80 tours had been purchased. The offer is available until St George’s Day, April 23.
This offer is available Thursday and Friday, subject to availability, from 1 May until 15 September.
