New Hall Vineyard is a family run english wine producer with over 100 acres of vines, It was first established by the Greenwood family, in the small Essex village of Purleigh in 1969 and is one of the oldest and largest english vineyards in the country.
The grape vines grown at New Hall were carefully selected and have been planted only 12m to 24m above sea level, on well-sheltered, southern facing slopes of a shallow valley.
Over the years this site has proven itself to be an almost ideal place, for the growing of vines in England. Producing, above average crops of high quality grapes with naturally high sugars, each year.
New Hall Vineyards is open Mon – Friday 9am to 4pm and Sat 9am to 1.30pm, free of charge, where visitors welcome to taste some of wines in the cellar shop under the house and walk along the vineyard trail.
Special guided tours can be booked during the summer for groups of 14 or more.
